The Warren Alpert Foundation, in association with Harvard Medical School, announced that Dr. Lieping Chen will be one of five 2017 award recipients. The award honors scientists who pioneered the transformative discoveries in the field of cancer immunology.

“The award is a great honor and a wonderful recognition of our work.”—–Dr. Lieping Chen

Dr. Chen is the United Technologies Corporation Professor in Cancer Research and professor of immunobiology, of dermatology and of medicine at Yale University. He has been the scientific advisor of VcanBio since 2016.

Chinese biotech Vcanbio opens first U.S. subsidiaries in Natick

A company that touts itself as the largest Chinese biotech company, called Vcanbio, has chosen Natick as the site of its first U.S. operations.

This past weekend, the Vcanbio Cell & Engineering Corp. opened a 15,504 square foot office and lab space at 21 Strathmore Road, the same building that formerly housed stem cell biotech Parcell Laboratories. Chinese biotech opens U.S. subsidiaries in Natick

What is touted as the largest Chinese biotech company opened the doors of its first U.S. subsidiaries over the weekend in Natick as company officials seek to enter the U.S. market.

The location at 21 Strathmore Road will house the corporate offices and laboratories for VCANBIO USA and VCANBIO Center for Translational Biotechnology.
